The Preiss Company announced John Preiss has been promoted to President. In his new role, Preiss will oversee executive leadership and continue to foster the company’s growth in both student and conventional multifamily industries. Founder Donna Preiss will continue her role as CEO. Since joining the company in 1998, Preiss has held a series of increasingly responsible roles, including Broker, Vice President, Executive Vice President of New Business Development and Chief Investment Officer. In the CIO role, he oversaw all investments and joint ventures. He has sourced more than $10 billion in debt and equity, and since the beginning of 2021, has successfully led his team to closing approximately $3 billion in transactions.

Zego announced the appointment of Stephen Baker as President and General Manager. As Zego’s former Chief Product Officer, Baker has over a decade of PropTech industry-specific knowledge and experience and a keen understanding of the importance of client satisfaction and product innovation, bringing an innovative approach to the commercial side of the business. In his new role, Baker plans to immediately leverage the global reach of its parent company, Global Payments, to drive more value-added services and capabilities that allow property management companies to run their businesses more efficiently, grow their portfolios and improve resident satisfaction. Ultimately, Baker’s long-term goal is to expand the company’s resident experience portfolio three times beyond what it is now. 

Kyle Hansen   •   Partner, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President   •   Dominium   •   Minneapolis

Dominium announced Kyle Hansen will serve as its first-ever Partner, Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President. Joining the Dominium Executive Committee in this newly created role, Hansen will initially focus on the largest divisions of the company, property and asset management, and will add additional functions over time. Hansen joins Dominium after an accomplished career in the banking industry, most notably devoting nearly 30 years to helping grow and shape U.S. Bank. He most recently served as the Executive Vice President of Community Finance Solutions, a division of U.S. Bank’s Community Development Corporation. After beginning his career as a Certified Public Accountant at Ernst and Young, Hansen spent three years as a loan officer at First Bank, followed by four years in real estate development at Opus Properties and Condor Corporation.

The Institute of Real Estate Management Board of Directors announced Linda Caradine-Poinsett, Ph.D., will serve as IREM’s Chief Executive Officer/Executive Vice President. Caradine-Poinsett comes to IREM from the American College of Prosthodontists where she served as CEO since 2016. Caradine-Poinsett has a strong history of overcoming challenges and creating measurable impact with a “pay-it-forward” leadership style. Caradine-Poinsett holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership, an M.J. with an emphasis in Health Law, an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Finance and a B.S. in Healthcare Administration. She was recognized with a Women of Excellence Award from the Chicago Defender (2021); REACH Award from National Louis University (2018); and a Women in Business Entrepreneur Award (Chicago). She also volunteers as a Board Member with A Silver Lining Foundation and as an Advisory Board Member for Southside Help Center.

FirstService Residential announced the promotion of Farik Badalov to Vice President of the CityLine Division, a segment of the company dedicated to providing full-service property management services to condominium and cooperative properties, and professional consulting services to self-managed properties, in Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx, Long Island and Westchester. As a Vice President, Badalov oversees a dedicated team of property managers who are responsible for the management of more than 4,000 residential units across 28 multifamily buildings. Badalov joined FirstService Residential in 2004 as an Assistant Property Manager at Seward Park Housing Cooperative in Brooklyn. He rose steadily up the management ranks to positions of increasing responsibility, serving most recently as Managing Director.

Sands Companies welcomed two new additions to its South Carolina-based team. John Reise joined Sands Companies as a Project Manager to lead the multitude of ongoing multifamily construction projects the company has in progress, as well as future projects. Reise comes to Sands Companies with an extensive background in operating numerous residential construction projects across the country. His role includes budgeting, supervising a large construction team and ensuring that project completion is done on time and on budget. Reise previously served as a Project Manager for many prominent homebuilding companies, such as D.R. Horton, Keller Homes and K. Hovnanian Homes among others. Michael Hensley assumed the role of Financial Controller. Hensley comes to Sands Companies with an extensive background in financial management, planning and analysis. He brings 27 years of experience with a focus on implementing operating budgets, safeguarding financial assets and forecasting while prioritizing deadlines and remaining solution oriented.

Rinnai America Corporation has announced the elevation of three leaders in the organization. Judd Greene has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Administration with responsibilities for Human Resources, Finance and Information Technology. Greene joined Rinnai in 2009 as Accounting Supervisor, was promoted to Controller in 2013 and VP of Finance in 2018. Prior to joining Rinnai, Greene held leadership positions at several companies including Curtiss-Wright Corporation. Tim Wiley has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Customer Experience with responsibilities for Sales, Marketing, Commercial, Quality Assurance and Customer Care. This team’s primary focus is on the engagement of Rinnai America Corporation’s external customers and enhancing their experiences with the company’s products and services. Wiley joined Rinnai in 2015 as Vice President of Sales. Prior to his time with Rinnai, Wiley held various sales leadership positions at Moen, Inc. and Georgia Pacific. Kevin Headley has been promoted to Vice President of Sales with responsibilities for sales in the U.S. and Canada. Headley joined Rinnai in 2020 as Senior Director of Sales. Before his time with Rinnai, Headley held sales leadership positions with a variety of companies including Sub-Zero Group and Whirlpool Corporation.

Alfred announced two strategic leadership hires in Jasmine Greene and Marisa Sires who bring a combined 30-plus years of real estate experience. Greene brings a breadth of multifamily experience through her previous roles across category-leading brands, such as RPM Living, Maverick Residential Company and Alliance Residential Company. As Alfred’s first Vice President of Multifamily Operations, Greene will be focused on creating the most robust technology solutions to improve operational efficiency through automation. With over 15 years of experience across real estate, product management, and client services, Sires brings expertise from her leadership roles in dynamic, high-growth companies including BuildingLink, CBRE Hana, Rally and Gigya, an SAP company.
