Waterton announced the hiring of Erick Harris as Executive Vice President & General Counsel. Harris brings to Waterton a depth of legal experience and leadership, honed over a 20-year career in real estate investment management and legal compliance. In his role leading the legal, risk management and compliance teams at Waterton, Harris will oversee the company’s legal strategies, manage contractual processes and ensure compliance and ethical governance across all business practices. Before joining Waterton, Harris served as General Counsel at Blue Vista Capital Management. His experience also includes leading legal functions and advising senior management on strategic initiatives at Stellar National Life Insurance Company.

Chicago-based Mary Cook Associates (MCA) has promoted Sara Murray from Senior Designer to the newly established position of Senior Designer | Innovation. In this role, Murray will build on her experience integrating the latest technologies into the design business  process, training staff, staying ahead of emerging trends, optimizing internal workflows and delivering measurable value to MCA’s clients. Murray brings nearly a decade of design experience and a proven track record of success to her new position. Murray joined Mary Cook Associates in 2021.

Marcus & Millichap announced that veteran multifamily investment sales advisors Bob Dean and Jonathan Greenberg have joined IPA in Washington, D.C. Previously Executive Vice Presidents with CBRE, they join IPA as Senior Managing Directors. A commercial real estate investment sales veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Dean specializes in the execution of institutional property sales in the Mid-Atlantic region. Prior to CBRE, he spent 20 years as a senior executive with GE Capital Real Estate. Greenberg has focused on multifamily investment property sales in the Mid-Atlantic region since 2001.

The NRP Group has hired Patrick Carino as Vice President of Development. Leveraging more than a decade of experience in the Northeast region, Carino will originate and manage all aspects of market-rate development in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. Prior to joining NRP, Carino oversaw acquisitions and development at RMS Companies where he helped spearhead the expansion of RMS into the Westchester, Northern New Jersey and suburban Boston markets.

EAH Housing has announced the addition of Colleen Mizuno and Laura Wilder to its Board of Directors. The two women will assume their new roles effective immediately. With extensive backgrounds in affordable housing within the Hawaii and Northern California markets, Mizuno and Wilder bring decades of experience successfully providing housing for families and individuals who call these regions home. Mizuno brings more than 40 years of construction experience in Hawaii to EAH Housing’s Board of Directors. Her expertise in all phases of preconstruction services, marketing construction management, RFP proposal response, competitive bidding, design/assist and design/build project delivery has resulted in a sterling project portfolio. 

Wilder joins the Board as a 20-year industry veteran specializing in affordable housing advising. As a certified public accountant and a Sacramento-based partner at national accounting firm CohnReznick, Wilder will provide a seasoned financial perspective and an adept understanding of the funding nuances of affordable housing.

Capital Square announced that Jay Olander has joined the company as President and Chief Financial Officer. He also serves as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Capital Square Apartment REIT, Inc., a real estate investment trust sponsored by the company. Olander brings over 40 years of proven expertise to Capital Square. Prior to joining Capital Square, Olander was an independent Director of Capital Square Apartment REIT, Inc. and the Managing Partner of Cornerstone Realty Advisors, LLC. Previously, he was the founder, Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Landmark Apartment Trust, Inc., prior to its acquisition by Starwood Capital Group and Milestone Apartments Real Estate Investment Trust.

Lee & Associates South Florida further strengthened its team of commercial real estate brokers, with Luisa Pena joining the firm as Principal. Based in Miami, Pena has more than 15 years of experience in the real estate arena and specializes in multifamily invest-ment properties. Prior to joining Lee & Associates South Florida, Pena served as an Associate with Marcus & Millichap. While there, she exclusively handled the acquisition and disposition of multifamily assets throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties and was an active member of the firm’s National Housing Group.

With 10 new multifamily properties scheduled to join the JAG Management Company portfolio in 2024, the property management firm is pleased to announce the promotion of two Regional Managers to Regional Vice President to oversee growth across JAG’s portfolio along the East Coast. Maureen Haberern takes on the role of Regional Vice President for JAG Management Company’s operations in the Carolinas, the Mid-Atlantic and Washington Metropolitan Area. She joined JAG in 2018 and brings more than 20 years of multifamily experience to the new role. 

Ronda Layo is JAG Management Company’s Regional Vice President overseeing assets in New England, the Mid-Atlantic and Wash-ington Metropolitan Area. With over 20 years of industry experience, Layo has been with JAG since 2020 and is currently a member of the Pennsylvania Apartment Association’s Regional Advisory Council and a Pennsylvania delegate for the National Apartment Association.

WinnCompanies announced the promotion of three team members to Vice President roles in its proper-ty management, sustainability and development functions.

Michael Milko, who oversees the management operations of more than 40 properties totaling nearly 5,000 residential units in a half-dozen Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states, was promoted from Senior Vice President to Executive Vice President for WinnResidential. Milko joined the company nearly three decades ago in 1995 and held positions of Senior Property Manager, Executive Property Manager, Regional Vice President and Divisional Vice President before earning the title of Senior Vice President in December 2017. 

Christina McPike, who has implemented energy efficiency and decarbonization upgrades across the company’s portfolio, has been promoted from Director to Vice President of Energy & Sustainability. Working on new construction, historic adaptive reuse and deep energy retrofit projects, McPike has led numerous innovative federally and state-funded initiatives transforming communities into high performance, environmentally responsible housing while addressing climate change and energy equity issues. 

Ramie Schneider, who leads a variety of mixed-income new construction projects in New England, has been promoted from Senior Project Director to Associate Vice President for WinnDevelopment. Schneider joined the company in 2021 with a decade of experience overseeing substantial ground-up construction and redevelopment projects and has achieved notable success in navigating entitle-ment and community engagement efforts for the company.
