The Atlanta Apartment Association celebrates 50 years of service.
The Atlanta Apartment Association is celebrating its golden anniversary. The organization was founded in 1975 and highlighted its first 50 years in early April at the Atlanta History Center.
Originally established as the Apartment Owners and Managers Association (AOMA), the Atlanta Apartment Association (AAA) rebranded and created the Georgia Apartment Association in 1989. AOMA became an affiliate of the National Apartment Association earlier in the decade in 1983.
Other milestones throughout the association’s 50 years include charitably giving back to the local community; partnering with organizations to help neighborhoods and residents; creating learning opportunities for industry professionals; exceeding 500,000 units in membership for the first time in 2024; and so much more.
In a video acknowledgement of the milestone, AAA President Jim Fowler, CAE, said the talented volunteer leaders are the foundation of the association and of the rental housing industry.
