NAAPAC Financial Update
NAAPAC's fundraising continues to be strong, although we're slightly lagging behind our usual pace. As of August 10, we've raised approximately $675,000 and disbursed $835,000 in 2026, bringing total cycle disbursements to $1,756,500. These resources raised by NAAPAC go directly toward federal legislators from both parties who support policies that strengthen the rental housing industry. Affiliates are delivering results. 34 NAA affiliates have already reached their 2026 "Fund Our Future" goal, with five more within striking distance. You know who your best advocates are. Whatever advocacy task you ask of them, they show up.
Named after Malcolm N. Bennett, who said, “If you don't get involved in issues that affect you, then you have no right to complain," the Advocate of the Year Award recognizes that advocates like that are worth their weight in platinum. Recognize your platinum advocates this year. The nomination process for NAA’s Advocate of the Year Award is now open. Don’t delay – The deadline for submitting nominations has been extended until August 21, 2026.

Housing Affordability Project
Multifamily North West (MFNW), the NAA affiliate partner in Oregon, is also taking a proactive approach. MFNW has been granted a $100,000 HAP award to not only influence the policy conversation but to propose their own bills in the upcoming session. The focus will be on advancing a series of legislative initiatives during the upcoming session aimed at addressing the increasing challenges associated with rent nonpayment and safety concerns in multifamily housing communities. In addition to MFNW’s local advocacy work, HAP resources will be leveraged to create a campaign to support these efforts.
