Bonnie Smetzer, CPM, HCCP

Bonnie Smetzer, CPM, HCCP, is an Executive Vice President with Asset Living, overseeing multifamily operations in Florida, including both market rate and affordable apartments. Smetzer was a founding partner in JMG Realty, which sold to Asset Living in 2021. Active in the apartment industry, Smetzer is a past President of both the Florida Apartment Association and the Space Coast Apartment Association. Bonnie received the Hall of Fame Award from the Florida Apartment Association and the Advocate of the Year Award from NAA and the Apartment Association of Greater Orlando. After serving eight years on the NAA Board of Directors, Smetzer achieved Board Emeritus status. Bonnie now serves on the NAAEI Board of Directors.

Patrick Kappel

Patrick Kappel is the founder and CEO of Kappel Realty Group, San Diego’s number one large residential brokerage team within the one-to-four-unit investment property space. The Kappel Realty Group specializes in working with “mom and pop” investors buying and selling one-to-four-unit investment properties. Along with running a successful brokerage team, Patrick and his wife own numerous investment properties in San Diego County including rental condos, rental single-family homes, and small, two-to-four-unit apartment communities. He built his real estate investment portfolio over the course of a 24-year career in the U.S. Navy when he began investing in his twenties and throughout his military career. With a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, an MBA from UCLA, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from USD, Patrick has risen as a leader within real estate through his educational approach which he implements when working with clients and peers. He serves on the Southern California Rental Housing Association Board of Directors and the Legislative Steering Committee.

Ken Schreiber

Ken Schreiber currently serves as President of Commercial Insurance with HUB International Northeast. A seasoned insurance professional with over three decades in the business, Shreiber has held senior leadership roles at HUB Northeast for 19 of his 30 years at the company. He previously served as Chief Client Officer and was responsible for building and leading a robust sales infrastructure and client experience platform at HUB Northeast, focused on the Client Experience and how to best connect current and prospective clients to HUB resources to effectively and efficiently meet their full suite of insurance needs across all retail lines of business. Schreiber has worked with the real estate industry for the entirety of his career, working directly with building owners, property managers, developers and Co-op/Condo boards. He worked directly with Neighborworks America on their Risk Management Captive, NRMC, for four years, providing risk mitigation services to members as well as placing coverage for the captive.
