PACE Credential System FAQs

The Platform for Apartment Credential Engagement (PACE) is NAAEI’s portal for managing the entire credential journey, from application to satisfying credential requirements to annual renewal.  PACE also includes a public registry of credential holders.

Through PACE, a user can:

  • Apply for a credential
  • Track the completion of credential requirements
  • Access digital course materials
  • Apply for a candidacy extension
  • Request to schedule an exam
  • Upload CEC activities
  • Renew a credential
  • View a public registry of credential holders

An NAA account is required for access to PACE.  To create your account, visit my.naahq.org and click Create Account.  Follow these instructions to create your NAA account. Be sure to check the box that says “Click here for credential PACE access.”

Access to PACE is through your NAA account.  Once you are logged into your NAA account, navigate to the Personal Snapshot page and click My Education Institute to access the portal.  Be sure that the “Click here for credential PACE access” box is checked in your NAA profile in order to view your PACE account.

If you are attempting to log into PACE from the NAA website but your PACE account is not available, go back to your NAA account Personal Snapshot page and click Edit My Profile.  On that page, confirm that “Click here for credential PACE access” is checked.  That box must be checked in order to set up a PACE account.

Your profile is viewable through PACE but all updates to your profile (employer, address, email, etc.) must be completed in your NAA account in the Edit My Profile section.  Any changes will automatically update in your PACE profile.

To apply for a credential, log into your NAA account, navigate to the Personal Snapshot page and click My Education Institute.  Once you are logged into the PACE portal, you will see a list of NAAEI credentials.  Simply click on the appropriate program to begin the short application process.

A credential candidacy application is valid for six months from the training class start date (or date of purchase for online students).  If you are not able to complete all credential requirements within the six-month candidacy period, you may purchase a six-month extension by clicking “Purchase candidacy extension” on your in-progress credential application.

Exam codes are no longer issued.  To schedule your exam, first verify on the PACE portal that all application requirements are complete by clicking “Check application status.”  If all other requirements show a status of Complete, click “Successfully complete exam” to begin the exam scheduling process.

To schedule your exam, first verify on the PACE portal that all application requirements are complete by clicking “Check application status.”  If all other requirements show a status of Complete, click “Successfully complete exam” to begin the exam scheduling process.

Select your testing modality (in person at your training provider site, online via a Live Remote Proctor, or in person at a testing center).  Next indicate whether you need to request an accommodation for the exam.  Click continue.

A Notice to Schedule email will be sent to you that provides a link to the exam scheduling site along with your login credentials.  Use that email to select your exam date and time.

At any time, you may upload details and documentation of continuing education activities to the PACE portal by clicking “Submit CEC Activities.”  Complete all required information and upload proof of attendance.  Acceptable documentation includes a certificate of completion or attendance, a course transcript, a CEC reporting form, copy of a letter confirming a board/committee appointment, copy of published article, etc.  A receipt showing purchase is not considered acceptable documentation.

CEC activities will be tracked in PACE and applied to eligible credential renewal applications.

To pay your renewal fees, log into PACE through your NAA account.  Click “Apply for Renewal” in the Credentials Earned tile.  Note that the application will become available beginning 90 days before the end of the renewal period.  Once you have completed payment and submitted all required CECs, your application will be complete and the credential will be active for one year.

A certain portion of all renewal applications are flagged for audit.  If your application is reviewed and the documentation you provided is found to be insufficient, you will be notified via email and asked to provide further information. If you are unable to do so, your application will be denied and your credential moved to inactive status.  At that time, a reinstatement application will be required to regain active status.

Emeritus status is available to credential holders who have over 20 years of experience in the rental housing industry and who have maintained a credential in good standing for at least ten years.  An emeritus application will be available in PACE for your renewal after ten years of active status.  Complete the application by submitting a resume detailing your industry experience.  You will be notified by email if your application has been approved.
