NAA Holds February Advocacy and Legal Update

The National Apartment Association's (NAA) Monthly Advocacy and Legal Update digests the latest legal and advocacy news from across the country. 

On Feb. 15, 2023, NAA hosted the latest installment of the monthly call. Some highlights include:

  • Federal Legislative Update: Greg Brown, SVP, Government Affairs, discussed NAA’s 2023 legislative priorities, noting the reintroduction of the Choice and Affordable Housing Act in the Senate, and provided an overview of the White House's Blueprint for a Renters Bill of Rights with Nicole Upano, AVP, Housing Policy & Regulatory Affairs.
  • Regulatory Roundup: Joe Riter, Senior Manager, Public Policy and Ben Harrold, Manager, Public Policy, reported on prominent issues - including rent control and resident screening - popping up at the state and local level.
  • Legal Update: Members of NAA’s Legal Affairs team digested the latest in eviction litigation, federal statutes and more.
