The National Apartment Association's (NAA) Monthly Advocacy and Legal Update digests the latest legal and advocacy news from across the country. 

On March 15, 2023, NAA hosted the latest installment of the monthly call. Some highlights include:

  • Federal Legislative Update: Jodie Applewhite, Director of Federal Legislative Affairs, discussed NAA’s 2023 legislative efforts and developments, highlighting numerous pieces of legislation in Congress. She also provided an overview of National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) President Sharon Wilson Geno's testimony before the Senate Finance Committee.
  • Regulatory Roundup: Nicole Upano, AVP of Housing Policy & Regulatory Affairs, discussed coordinated efforts across multiple federal agencies. Ben Harrold, Manager of Public Policy, discussed rent control and resident screening proposals across the country.
  • Legal Update: Members of NAA’s Legal Affairs team digested the latest in eviction litigation, federal statutes and more.
