Is there an outdoor space in your apartment community thats not getting much use? Consider doing something completely new with it to jazz up the overall look of the community and give residents more ways to gather and bond.
Recently, decision-makers at Western Station Apartment Homes in Fort Worth, Texas, turned a seldom-used laundry room (units now have washers and dryers) and outdoor volleyball court into an attractive community room and connected patio with an outdoor chess game and a fireplace at its center.
The community room, with built-in furniture, a flat-screen TV and a wet bar, connects to a patio with grills. But the real eye-catcher are the oversized chess pieces on a board made of stone and synthetic grass. An outdoor fireplace with multiple seating areas surrounding it adds another attractive community gathering place.
The goal of this bold redesign was to offer residents more opportunities to mix and mingle, which can drive renewals, while giving potential residents something to remember.
