The U.S. Census Bureau is currently conducting the Rental Housing Finance Survey on behalf of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The National Apartment Association (NAA) encourages its members that were selected to participate to respond by November 20. It is important to have a representative sampling of rental housing providers participating in this survey since the results could impact policymakers’ decision-making at every level of government, particularly at the federal level.

Background

Every three years, the Rental Housing Finance Survey collects information on property and financial characteristics to provide a snapshot of the nation's rental housing market. Decision-makers use this data to develop national, state, and local policies for rental housing — especially policies affecting groups such as senior or low-income families. The data collected can only be used to form national-level statistics that guide important decisions about housing. The Census Bureau is required to keep responses confidential.
