As the White House Blueprint for a Renters Bill of Rights reaches its first anniversary, the National Apartment Association (NAA) remains hard at work responding to the regulatory actions that have been issued in its wake and we need your help!
Most urgently, there are two proposed rules that will impact the rental housing industry with looming deadlines:
- The US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s proposed 30-day written notice requirement for nonpayment of rent in some federally-funded communities (Deadline: January 30, 2024); and
- The Federal Trade Commission’s sweeping proposal to prohibit American businesses from charging so-called unfair or deceptive fees and require all-in pricing disclosures. (Deadline: February 7, 2024).
In order to ensure that the rental housing industry’s voice is heard loud and clear on these important issues, NAA is offering meaningful opportunities to engage with a dual call to action.
