Just before the holiday, the Federal Trade Commission extended the comment period for its proposed regulation of “junk fees” in rental housing by 30 days with a new deadline of Feb. 7, 2024. NAA has adjusted its advocacy strategy to maximize opportunities to engage with the FTC and voice the industry’s opposition to expanded federal compliance responsibilities, but we need your help to amplify the housing providers’ experience!

We encourage our affiliate partners to have conversations with your members about this proposed rule.

In addition to the rental housing industry’s formal comments, you can expect several opportunities for member and affiliate partner participation in this crucial rulemaking action.
