Ken McCarren, Vice President of Asset Management, will succeed Craig Jones as President of MBK Rental Living. Jones retired from the company earlier this year. Jones joined MBK in 2012 with MBK Homes and then was instrumental in helping establish MBK Rental Living, a division of MBK Real Estate LLC. Before becoming President in 2017, he served as Vice President of Acquisitions and Asset Management. As President, McCarren will be responsible for leading MBK Rental Living’s acquisition, disposition, construction, asset management, strategic planning and market research. He joined the company in 2020 with over 30 years of experience in the multifamily business.

Rinnai America Corporation recently announced the appointment of three senior positions in an effort to drive growth and strengthen its vertical segments. Most recently, Bernard Beyer was Assistant Chief Information Officer and Director of Information Technology at Butterball LLC, leading a team of business analysts and developers. At Rinnai, Beyer will lead the expansion of the company’s IT infrastructure, application landscape and data security. 

Sean Boyer’s prior position was with LG Electronics as the Senior Director of Operations, where he catapulted LG’s sales growth and expanded its online presence and user engagement. Boyer will be directing world-class delivery of all customer-facing, pre- and post-sales support activities through employees in customer care, technical support, field service, technical training and quality assurance. 

Buster Kennett worked as CFO of CHEP, and prior to this new role, as CFO of Sara Lee’s global coffee business. He will leverage his external experience to help Rinnai’s finance across the business, accelerating growth to achieve the company’s long-term goals.

BLT Architects—A Perkins Eastman Studio announced the promotions of two architects to the position of Associate Principal: Kyle Kernozek, AIA, LEED AP, and David Smallets, AIA, LEED AP. A graduate of Drexel University and the Pittsburgh Technical Institute, Kernozek is experienced in all aspects of architectural practice, including design documentation and construction administration. At BLTa he has served as an integral member of the project team for large-scale institutional and educational commissions.  Smallets, a graduate of Philadelphia University, is experienced in working on a variety of project types including large-scale, mixed-use urban projects as well as multifamily, office and higher education.

Kitchen & Associates announced the appointment of Matthew Bartner, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, as Managing Principal. Bartner, who previously served as Principal and Director of Operations, succeeds Stephen L. Schoch, AIA, LEED AP, who will remain a Principal of the firm. As Managing Principal, Bartner is responsible for maintaining the firm’s position as a leader of integrated design services across key markets and verticals. Since joining K&A in 2009, Bartner helped countless institutions successfully implement a vision for their built environment and demonstrated a trailblazing commitment to sustainability. Schoch strengthened the organization’s commitment to affordable housing, with more than 1,000 affordable housing projects across 20 states. He also helped establish the firm as a leader in supportive housing and student housing, with more than 1,600 units of supportive housing and 32,000 student housing beds developed in 30 states during his tenure.

Stella Pappas has joined TruAmerica Multifamily as Senior Managing Director and Head of Investor Relations. Pappas, with nearly two decades of real estate investment experience, will be responsible for all facets of the firm’s fundraising efforts and investor relations program and will serve on the firm’s investment committee. Prior to joining TruAmerica, Pappas was Vice President, Investor Relations at Waterton, a Chicago-based real estate investment firm.  She played a key role in helping the firm achieve its fundraising target for its flagship multifamily fund in 2021 and was responsible for the firm’s capital raising efforts across the eastern U.S. and select markets abroad.

Lloyd Cobble joined CIG Communities as Senior Vice President of Property Management, overseeing all aspects of property management and leading the company in growing the management portfolio to complement the growing portfolio of properties developed by CIG Communities. He began his Real Estate career at Eagle Realty Group, a subsidiary of Western & Southern Financial Group, where he ascended to the role of Director of Operations for multifamily property management, having responsibility for overseeing a portfolio of 40+ communities with more than 7,000 units in a five-state portfolio. Prior to joining CIG Communities, he served as Vice President of Property Management for Oberer Management Services in Dayton, Ohio. There, he was responsible for the operations of the property management division, including both apartments and homeowner/condominium associations. With more than 20+ years in multifamily property management, Cobble has a wide range of experience and brings to CIG Communities strength in financial analysis, budgeting, operations, and team building.

Abbie Huffman joins CIG Communities as the Director of Business Development and Brand Strategy. Huffman is responsible for cultivating new business opportunities and overseeing all marketing and branding for the company to include corporate branding, employee culture and brand positioning. Huffman began her career with Greystar Management where she held several positions over a seven-year period and prior to joining CIG, she was the Senior Business Engagement Manager for Rent Manager. She has been recognized for her interdisciplinary team leadership and she excels at aligning the requirements, feedback and resources of diverse clients and stakeholders. 

Ellen Crabtree joins CIG Communities as the Regional Director of Property Management bringing her demonstrated experience and success with budgeting, team development, customer service, lease-ups, asset repositioning, and strategic planning. Her experience provides a well-rounded perspective to property owners, and she acts as a mentor to CIG Communities onsite teams. Crabtree previously held senior level management positions for several national management companies, and she takes pride in her individual approach to each management assignment, utilizing her skills and experience to bring the highest and best value to each client. In addition to being a strong sales professional, she holds certifications from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and the NAA earning her CPM, CAM and CAPS designations. Crabtree oversees all portfolio operations for Ohio and Kentucky.

Bristol Development Group announced new roles for two longtime members of its leadership team as Principal and Chief Executive Officer Charles Carlisle steps back from day-to-day leadership. New Chief Executive Officer, Bryan Jacobs, and Chief Investment Officer, David Hanchrow, will work together to set the direction of the company as Senior Partners. Jacobs has been with Bristol Development Group for 18 years, most recently as Chief Financial Officer. Hanchrow is a 32-year veteran of the industry and has been with Bristol since October 1999. He leads site selection, acquisition and asset disposition for Bristol. Nahshon Roth, previously with US Bank, succeeds Jacobs as CFO. Carlisle, who served as CEO for 14 years, will remain with BDG as a Principal.
