The National Apartment Association (NAA) recently hosted a webinar to raise awareness of a new reporting requirement under the Corporate Transparency Act’s Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) rules. These rules were implemented by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network of the Treasury Department and have a January 1, 2025, reporting deadline for most businesses formed before January 1, 2024.
NAA’s 2024 Independent Rental Owners Committee Chair Megan Orser served as host with Attorneys Norm Praet and Todd Whitlow of Brownlee, Whitlow & Praet presenting vital information to educate NAA members on these new federal filing requirements, including:
- What companies are required to comply or qualify for an exemption;
- Pressing filing deadlines; and
- Filing requirement details to help housing providers avoid penalties and fines
Listen to the on-demand version of this webinar today.
NAA remains committed to its federal advocacy efforts on behalf of the industry and will continue to support the NAA network with resources on new federal compliance responsibilities like BOI reporting.
