Resident Communication and Privacy Regulations

As you may be aware, resident communication and consumer privacy regulations are hot topics affecting our industry today.

As we continue to make resident communication more effective and accessible, we are subject to regulations like the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), intended to prevent spam texts, robocalling, and other telecommunications abuse. As we take in applicant and resident information, we must consider the patchwork of data privacy legislation impacting our industry, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), other state laws, the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and mounting pressure for a national standard.

We have partnered with Womble Bond Dickinson and Baker McKenzie to provide you with key information that you and your counsel should be aware of as you work through these evolving areas of regulation.

The memos below include current regulations, regulations about to go into effect, pending legislation, best practices, and a host of resources to find out more.
