Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) - Transition to ProctorU (Meazure Learning) Platform

Beginning October 6, the proctoring vendor for NAAEI’s Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) option (formerly referred to as Live Online Proctoring, or LOP) has changed to ProctorU, the LRP platform for Meazure Learning.

Earlier this year, the Certification and Licensure arm of NAAEI’s testing partner Scantron was acquired by Meazure Learning, and Scantron’s test administration program is in the process of being merged into Meazure Learning’s system. During this ongoing transition, candidates may see communications from Scantron and/or Meazure Learning.

As part of this change, NAAEI’s LRP testing has moved from Examity (Scantron’s LRP provider) to Meazure Learning’s ProctorU LRP platform.

LRP Transition on Thursday, October 6

  • Scantron/Meazure Learning shut down LRP for the day on Oct 6 in order to perform the transition from Examity to ProctorU.

  • Oct 6 was blocked on the LRP scheduler so no candidates could schedule an LRP exam on Oct 6.

  • On Oct 6, all candidates scheduled for LRP testing dates after Oct 6 were rescheduled from Examity to ProctorU, at their same scheduled date/time.

  • Beginning on Oct 6, the LRP scheduling link on the Meazure/Scantron scheduling page now links to ProctorU scheduling instead of Examity scheduling.

Notification to LRP Candidates Scheduled to Test After October 6

  • On September 29, Meazure Learning emailed all scheduled LRP candidates to notify them of the upcoming change and provide initial information on ProctorU (much of which is provided below).

  • On October 6, Meazure Learning also emailed new ProctorU scheduling confirmation information to all LRP candidates after they were rescheduled into the ProctorU system.

Information on ProctorU

The information below is provided to familiarize test takers with what to expect for a ProctorU exam appointment, including what is allowed (and not allowed) during an exam.

To get started, here is a brief list of how test takers can best prepare to begin their exam:

For a detailed walk through of the entire check-in process, including videos that show what to expect, please go to the What to Expect support page

Also provided is a list of What is Allowed and What is Not Allowed in an online proctored exam.

The Test-taker Resource Center details system requirements for test takers and provides a full video showing the test-taking experience, FAQs, and a link to Meazure Learning’s Help Center.

We have also provided sample versions of the Notice to Schedule and Exam Confirmation emails that LRP scheduled test-takers can expect to receive from Meazure Learning after the transition on October 6.

Candidates with questions regarding this process or online proctoring can contact Meazure Learning’s Candidate Services team at [email protected] or by phone at 919-572-6880, available M-F 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-4:00pm Eastern Time.

Transition: Examity to ProctorU

Most rules for Live Remote Proctoring will be the same with ProctorU as with Scantron’s prior Examity platform, but candidates should read their ProctorU emails from Meazure Learning carefully to ensure they understand all requirements for testing with ProctorU.

Some key features/requirements for ProctorU that may differ from prior Examity requirements are provided below:

  • Test takers can use either Chrome or Firefox as their browser and will need to download the appropriate ProctorU extension (rather than the Examity extension).

  • Test takers must be in a private room with a desk/table and chair. Testing on couches, beds, etc., is not permitted.

  • As part of the room scan before testing begins, test takers will be required to show the proctor their computer monitor from a reflective surface, such as a mirror or cell phone. (After the room scan, candidates will be required to move their cell phone out of reach.)

  • Test takers are permitted to use 2 blank sheets of scratch paper or a whiteboard, along with one writing utensil. Test takers must destroy the scratch paper and/or erase the whiteboard at the end of the exam.

  • Test takers can use the links in the Test-taker Resource Center to determine system requirements for testing.

  • One system requirement is that candidates must allow the proctor to have remote access to their computer during the exam session. The proctor requires this access in order to prepare the candidate’s computer for testing.

  • No scheduled breaks are provided in the exam, so please plan accordingly. Only emergency restroom breaks will be permitted during the exam, with the proctor’s permission. The exam timer will continue to run, and any time spent in the restroom will not be added back to the exam timer. The proctor will require an additional camera pan of the room upon return from the break, before the candidate can resume their exam.

  • Test takers will see their exam results on the screen at the end of the exam but will not be able to print/save their results, due to the method ProctorU’s software uses to lock down the test-taker's system during testing. After testing, test takers will receive an email from Meazure Learning that provides information on how to login to Meazure Learning's online score reporting portal and access their score report for printing/viewing. Candidates who need a score report from before October 16 or candidates who do not receive an email from Meazure Learning after completing their exam should contact Meazure Learning's Candidate Support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Questions and Answers

Q: When the proctoring vendor changed to ProctorU on October 6, did the exam itself change?

A: No. This change just involved a change in proctoring companies for NAAEI online testing—no changes are being made to any of the NAAEI exams themselves.

-----

Q: I’m scheduled to take my exam in-person (at a Scantron testing center or an NAA affiliate testing site). Will my exam be rescheduled?

A: No. The only exams being rescheduled as part of this process are those scheduled for Live Remote Proctoring (LRP) after October 6.

------

Q: Can I use my prior Scantron/Examity confirmation email to access my ProctorU exam appointment after October 6?

A: No. You should have received a new confirmation email from Meazure Learning on October 6 with the necessary information for your ProctorU exam appointment. If you are scheduled for an exam appointment after October 6 and did not receive a new ProctorU confirmation email from Meazure Learning on October 6, please contact Meazure Learning’s Candidate Services team at [email protected] or by phone at 919-572-6880, available M-F 8:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 8:30am-4:00pm Eastern Time.

------

Q: I haven’t scheduled my exam appointment yet. How will I be affected?

A: You will use the same scheduling link that you were originally provided for exam scheduling, but if you choose the option to schedule your exam appointment via Live Remote Proctoring (LRP), you will now be connected to the scheduling system for ProctorU rather than Examity.

------

Q: When I took my exam via Live Remote Proctoring (LRP), I saw my exam results onscreen at the end of my exam, but I was unable to print or save them. How do I get a copy of my exam results?

A: After testing, you will receive an email from Meazure Learning that provides information on how to login to Meazure Learning's online score reporting portal and access your score report for printing/viewing. If you need a score report from before October 16, or if you tested after October 16 and did not receive an email with login information for the score reporting portal, please contact Meazure Learning's Candidate Support team at [email protected] for assistance. (Due to the method ProctorU’s software uses to lock down your system during testing, you will see your exam results on the screen at the end of the exam but will not be able to print/save your results.)
