JoAnn Blaylock     President     Birchstone Residential      Coppell, Texas

Birchstone Residential announced the addition of veteran multifamily executive JoAnn Blaylock as President. Blaylock joins Birchstone, which serves as the in-house property management arm of Ashcroft Capital, to guide the growing company with her comprehensive experience, expertise and dynamic leadership style. Blaylock was most recently President of Quarterra Living, the property management arm of Lennar Corporation’s multifamily division. Blaylock helped launch the property management division in 2014 and was responsible for the strategic direction and operation of Quarterra’s nationwide portfolio. She previously served as Senior Vice President of Grand Campus Living. She also spent time as a Senior Managing Director for Greystar after beginning her career at JPI Management Services.

Jason Fein      Vice President of Property Maintenance     Dominium      Minneapolis

Dominium has hired Jason Fein to serve as Vice President of Property Maintenance. Fein will oversee and develop strategic initiatives for all maintenance functions within the company while managing relationships with suppliers and service providers, administering safety programs, addressing critical issues at the site level and more. Fein brings over 25 years of experience in multifamily housing maintenance and facilities management. Prior to joining Dominium, Fein was a National Maintenance Services Director at Camden Property Trust. He also held the role of Regional Facilities Director at Equity Residential, where he oversaw the Mid-Atlantic and Florida markets. Fein is an active member in the Texas Apartment Association.

Suzel Broe      Chief Financial Officer – Financial Services      KW Property Management & Consulting     Miami

KW Property Management & Consulting has added Suzel Broe as Chief Financial Officer – Financial Services. Based in Miami, Broe will leverage her accounting background for the benefit of KWPMC’s clients. A Certified Public Accountant, Broe has over two decades of experience as a business owner, consultant and senior accounting professional with a Big Four accounting background. Broe most recently served as CFO of Orion Real Estate Group. Broe’s experience includes accounting policy implementation; purchase accounting and acquisition integration; due diligence related to business acquisitions; accounting systems conversions, integration and standardization of policies and procedures; strategic finance and planning; modeling; and operations.

Jack Devedjian     Director of Capital Projects and Facilities      Marquette Management     Chicago

Jack Devedjian has joined Marquette Management as Director of Capital Projects and Facilities. Devedjian will oversee capital programs and construction projects as a member of the firm’s leadership team. Most recently, Devedjian served as Vice President of Facilities Management and Engineering at Chicago-based Habitat, where he directed and managed long-term capital projects. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Past positions include Vice President of Facilities and Engineering at The Tribune Company and managing the facilities for S&C Electric Company.

Multifamily investment advisors David Stollenwerk and Kyle Pinkalla have joined Institutional Property Advisors (IPA), a division of Marcus & Millichap. Stollenwerk joined IPA in Nashville, Tenn., as a Director. He has over 15 years’ experience serving institutional investors, national developers, banks, REITs, pension funds and major private investors with the acquisition and disposition of multifamily assets and was previously a Vice President with Northmarq. He is a member of the National Apartment Association and Nashville Apartment Association. Pinkalla has joined IPA in San Diego as a Senior Vice President. He was previously Managing Director of Multifamily Investment Sales in Southern California for Northmarq.

Cruz Companies has announced a number of strategic promotions and new hires, including the appointment of Justin Cruz to Chief Operating Officer across all three Cruz Companies corporate divisions. John B. Cruz Construction team member John Teixeira was promoted to the role of Project Manager. Cruz Management team member Jennifer Then was elevated to Regional Property Manager, and Cherelle Spencer was promoted to Senior Property Manager.

Since joining Cruz Companies in 2015 upon graduating from the Wentworth Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Architecture, Teixeira’s growing skills and commitment to the firm led to increasingly senior roles in major building projects. In his new role, Teixeira will take on expanded organizational leadership responsibilities in addition to his project work.

Then began her tenure in 2016 as a front desk clerk and quickly established herself as a knowledgeable and dedicated advocate for residents. Then advanced to the role of Property Manager before being named as Regional Property Manager this past fall. 

Spencer plays an essential role, overseeing hundreds of residential units across the greater Boston area during the past three-plus years. Spencer will take on additional leadership responsibilities and manage a growing team of Cruz Management staff members.

Capital Square, Richmond, Va. 

Jon Trott      Co-Chief Investment Officer

Dave Platter     Co-Chief Investment Officer

Capital Square has named Jon Trott and Dave Platter to lead the firm’s strategic investment initiatives as Co-Chief Investment Officers. Trott and Platter joined Capital Square in 2022 as Managing Directors to lead the company’s private equity group, a new corporate division that focused on single-family build-for-rent homes and other non-traditional real estate investment opportunities. In their new roles, Trott and Platter will oversee Capital Square’s investment strategy, allocations, new business development and the structuring of new partnerships and joint ventures that utilize both retail and institutional capital.

Prior to Capital Square, Trott and Platter led the private equity team of The Amherst Group’s build-for-rent division, where they were responsible for capital raising, acquisition sourcing and overall management of the division. Previously, Trott was an investment professional with Spear Street Capital. Prior to his tenure with The Amherst Group, Platter was the co-founder of Southern Creek Capital, an investment manager in the single-family rental and multifamily spaces. He previously worked at the JBG Companies.

Lessen announced the expansion of its leadership team with the addition of Kevin Owens as EVP, Multifamily. Owens brings over 25 years of real estate leadership experience to Lessen, with a track record of developing innovative property management solutions, leading operations and delivering growth while improving the experience of residents. Owens has served in executive leadership positions for various multifamily property management firms across the country. Most recently, Owens was division President at RPM Living, where he led RPM’s property management business in the Eastern half of the United States. 

Erica Blue      Product Specialist and Assistant Territory Manager      Trilogy Real Estate Group     Chicago

Trilogy Real Estate Group announced Erica Blue has joined the company as Product Specialist and Assistant Territory Manager. Blue will be responsible for supporting sales efforts of Trilogy’s platform of investment offerings in the western U.S. Blue has been working in the alternatives space since 2008 and has been recognized as a top internal wholesaler six times. Most recently she was with Capital Square where she added to her experience marketing investment products including Delaware statutory trusts (DSTs), qualified opportunity zone funds, development funds and non-traded REITs.
