NAAPAC Insider June 2024: Who We're Talking To

2 minute read

Key Takeaways

  • NAAPAC is a critical industry resource and helps further our legislative priorities among Democrats and Republicans.
  • Thus far, NAAPAC has disbursed $912,300 to the campaigns of federal lawmakers in 2024.

NAAPAC has vastly expanded its advocacy efforts and influence this election cycle by disbursing $1.725 million to date, including $1.485 million to over 280 federal campaigns aligned with our industry issues. NAAPAC lobbyists have attended approximately 200 events, relaying our priorities and thanking members of Congress for their support. We expect our disbursement numbers and attendance to only further increase as we get closer to election day.

NAAPAC was delighted to host a virtual meeting for NAAPAC donors with State Rep. Craig Goldman, the Republican candidate for Texas’s 12th congressional district, on Thursday, June 27th. During the meeting, Goldman shared his thoughts on strategies to help eliminate industry regulatory barriers. Given his background as a Fort Worth Apartment Association member and multifamily real estate owner/operator, Goldman is expected to be a strong ally for our industry in the next Congress. NAAPAC proudly supported Goldman’s campaign by contributing the maximum amount allowed under federal law for the primary, runoff, and general elections. We look forward to Goldman’s victory in November and his joining the House of Representatives in the 119th Congress.

As part of a limited series, NAAPAC will host an exclusive Senate election virtual briefing for supporters with Matt Wall, Deputy Executive Director at the NRSC. This virtual event will take place on July 11 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern. Additional details will be shared in the coming days so stay tuned. A similar briefing featuring the DSCC is being finalized towards the end of July.
