RPM Careers Ambassadors Bring Experience to Industry

2 minute read

Before joining the residential property management (RPM) industry, Julie Chu was working late shifts in retail. Wendy White served as a U.S. Army finance officer. Bailey Melanson, whose parents both worked in the industry, was "born into it."

RPM Careers ambassadors (pictured), who connect with those looking to join the industry, have different stories of how they got to where they are today. But they have one thing in common: They love this industry, and they want to help interested candidates make it in RPM.

When Chu renewed her lease, she walked away with a new job. From there, her career in RPM swiftly accelerated. "Now," she says, "I am a property manager who oversees all aspects of successfully managing a multimillion-dollar community."

RPM Careers ambassadors don't love the industry just for its growth opportunities, although there are many; they love that they get to help people. White finds it particularly rewarding to work with the military community.

"My own service enriches my understanding of the work we do with military housing," she says. "Knowing that we have the ability to make a move less stressful for a military family is a source of pride for our team." And, even for a member of a family steeped in the industry, the work doesn't lose its luster.

"I accepted the nomination to be an RPM Careers ambassador to help expose others to this extraordinary and fascinating industry," Melanson says. "This business is continually evolving and offers endless opportunities. It's rewarding and so much fun when you're working in an industry that has no bounds!"
