Apartment hunters on Apartments.com will soon be able to place themselves in the middle of their potential new apartment homes.
Apartments.com users will be able to don either Samsung Gear VR or Google Cardboard virtual reality headsets to get an in-depth view of the apartments they might want to make their homes. CoStar, owner of Apartments.com, has not yet announced when it will debut the virtual reality tours.
Through its partnership with Matterport, Apartments.com offers more than 60,000 3-D tours for more than 20,000 apartment communities. The site’s 3-D Matterport Spaces will soon also offer virtual reality tours using CoreVR technology.
