RKW Residential added two key new hires to accommodate its continued growth in the Raleigh, N.C., market. Jeff Vickers joined RKW as Area Vice President, and Michell Garcia-Brown is the firm’s new Regional Manager for the Raleigh market.
Vickers brings more than 25 years of multifamily experience to RKW, including more than a decade as Regional Director at Bell Partners. Over the course of his career, Vickers has successfully guided numerous lease-up teams, completed notable portfolio transactions and managed multi-million-dollar capital improvement budgets for value-add assets – among other notable accomplishments.

Garcia-Brown has held various property management roles over the past 14 years in Virginia and North Carolina, including in the Raleigh-Durham and Charlotte markets. She is versed in new construction, lease-ups, Class A properties and value-add communities.

MRI Software has appointed Robb Napolitano as Vice President, Product Innovation. Napolitano will spearhead the continued growth and evolution of MRI’s affordable and public housing solutions. Napolitano, who is based in New York, brings over 17 years of experience in real estate technologies across multiple organizations. In his previous role as Chief Information Officer at The Brooksville Company, he oversaw all information and technology platforms. His oversight included the largest federally subsidized property in the U.S. Napolitano has also held executive positions at industry-leading organizations, including Rose Associates and MAXX Properties.

Ben Katon   •   Chief Capital Markets Officer   •   Weidner Apartment Homes   •   Kirkland, Wash. 

Weidner Apartment Homes has named Ben Katon as Chief Capital Markets Officer. Katon joined Weidner in 2003 and has been on Weidner’s Executive Leadership team since 2007. In his over two decades with the company, Katon has helped grow Weidner’s portfolio from approximately 12,000 units to over 70,000. Katon facilitated the finance of an average of 60 deals per year for Weidner in his former position as Sr. VP of Finance and Acquisitions.

CONAM has appointed Gregory Raap Executive Vice President of Property Management. Raap brings over two decades of leadership experience in the real estate industry, with a proven track record of success in multifamily operations including conventional, affordable and military housing. Raap is also a licensed broker in the states of California and Hawaii. Raap will co-lead CONAM’s property management business focused on the conventional housing portfolio. Prior to joining CONAM, Raap held senior leadership positions at Goldrich Kest, The Hunt Companies and Forest City Enterprises where he successfully guided multifamily operations.

Jasmine Alarcon   •   National Senior Director of Operations   •   Liberty Military Housing   •   Huntington Beach, Calif.

Liberty Military Housing has promoted Jasmine Alarcon to National Senior Director of Operations. In this newly created role, Alarcon will oversee operational aspects of Liberty’s national portfolio, providing vital support to the company’s regions and its National Support Team. With over 16 years of experience in the property management industry, Alarcon has spent the bulk of her career in service to military families. Beginning her career as a Service Manager, she has risen through the ranks and served in multiple roles within the company. Most recently, Alarcon held the role of Director of Operations and oversaw operations for Liberty’s Southwest Navy region.

The Breeden Company promoted Jake Marshall, CPA, to Chief Operating Officer. This appointment comes as a testament to Marshall’s exceptional leadership skills, extensive industry knowledge and unwavering commitment to the company’s success. Marshall has been a vital part of The Breeden Company, serving most recently as Vice President of Acquisitions and Development.

Freddie Mac announced its Board of Directors has selected real estate and financial services industry veteran Diana Reid to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. She will serve as a member of Freddie Mac’s Board of Directors. President and Interim CEO Michael Hutchins will continue as the company’s President. In the past, Reid spent nearly 12 years leading PNC Financial Services Group, Inc.’s real estate business division. Reid founded Beekman Advisors, where she provided real estate finance company owners, CEOs and boards strategic advice and M&A execution. She spent nearly 20 years at the investment bank formerly known as Credit Suisse First Boston in Mortgage Trading, Debt Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Advisory.  

Natalie Cariola   •   Chief Revenue Officer   •   SmartRent   •   Scottsdale, Ariz. 

SmartRent, Inc. announced Natalie Cariola is joining the company as its Chief Revenue Officer. Cariola will be a member of the recently formed Management Committee, which reports to SmartRent’s Chairman of the Board. Cariola will lead the SmartRent revenue organization, overseeing the sales and account management teams. Most recently, Cariola served as President of Stake. Prior to Stake, she spent six years at Zumper, including serving as the Chief Sales Officer. Previously, Cariola worked with Compass, helping to launch its Southern California operation, and she spent a decade at ForRent.com.

Miles Treaster   •   President, Capital Markets, Americas   •   Cushman & Wakefield   •   San Francisco 

Cushman & Wakefield announced the hiring of Miles Treaster as President, Capital Markets, Americas. He will be based in San Francisco. Treaster will oversee all operations and shape the long-term vision of the Capital Markets group. Treaster will also lead the company’s investor services business across all markets in North and South America. Treaster previously served as a founding partner of Five Horizons. Treaster has also served in leadership roles at Westbrook Partners and DRA Advisory LLC. Early in his career, Treaster was part of Cushman & Wakefield’s Investment Sales group in San Francisco.
